Something to think about, what does appreciation mean to you???
We’re all different. It is called bio-individuality, and this is okay.
Did you hear me? It’s okay that we are all different. If we were all alike, life would be pretty darn dull.
We all looked, talked, walked, and did everything alike, if you think about it. This life would be a snooze! Image if we all laughed the same way too.
Hearing someone laugh or you laugh can be refreshing.
So what is it that you appreciate?
Are you creative?
Do you love your career?
How about education? Are you a sponge for knowledge?
Do you have a specific relationship that you appreciate and treasure?
Do you know what got me thinking about appreciation?
First, let me set the mood:
It’s February in upstate New York, and it was 56 degrees at about 7 am…
(Not usually this temperature.)
I was walking Jerry (the dog) down the road. I looked around at the trees, small mountains, and wide-open fields. It made me think that our days go by so quickly, and we are all so busy to stop and see the beauty. I actually felt and appreciated it. Then I started to think and feel gratitude for our eyes to see, my skin to feel the warm air on my face, and my legs for taking me on this walk. I even thanked the dog for getting me out on this luxurious day in February.
My point is we need to STOP and appreciate all that we have. We should never be so busy not to find the time to thank ourselves for finding the beauty in all that we already have. We need to learn to love our bodies and take care of them. Sometimes that means starting from the top down.
The goal is to find positivity in what you have and can do for yourself and your body. You only have one, now is the time to take good care of it.
Have you done something today to take care of your body?
Things you can do:
Make homemade soup with fresh veggies.
Go for a walk.
Paint your nails.
Make a salad with all your favorites.
Do a bike ride- weather pending inside vs. outside.
Spend time with friends.
Read a book.
Watch a funny movie that made you laugh so hard your face hurt.
Make an appointment to discuss preventative care.
Smile at a stranger.
Say thank you at the grocery store.
Tell someone you care about how much you appreciate them.
Write a thank-you note.
Pay a bill on time.
Be outside, garden, walk, feel the air.
Make a healthy meal for a neighbor.
Plan a vacation.
Look into online learning classes or take a cooking class.
Make time to do one thing every day that will remind you to appreciate all you do and all you have.
Thank you for reading my blog.
Next month I am hoping to share some recipes from a friend!
Sending you all my best,
Nikki
